This is a great option for those wanting to move at their own pace as well. We can move faster or slower depending on your preference.
Avid photographer?
This is a great option to work with your guide to get the stunning glacier photos you’re after!
Check in details
This is a custom day so you tell us when you would like to meet! Our regular trips meet at 10:30, 12:15, and 16:30 so picking a time other than these will ensure you have the whole “Ice Base” to yourself as you prepare for your outing.
What to bring
Sun protection, fluids, and some snacks along with a small backpack are useful items. Bring your camera and sense of adventure too!
Special requirements
If you have any special requirements, please let us know. With advance notice, we can accommodate many requests. Examples include special photo requests, pacing, mobility challenges, etc.
restrictions: This trip does require moderate fitness to enjoy. We hike slowly and take frequent rests, but we are at 2000m and the weather can be demanding. We typically hike 4-10km over rough terrain, gaining and losing roughly 250m of elevation.
We encourage people to challenge themselves with this trip, and our guides will work with you to ensure your are comfortable. For some of the rope work, there may be other restrictions which can be discussed with your guide (waist size, weight, ability to manage the physical manoeuvres required to maintain body position in vertical terrain, etc).
extras: Our guides take photos of your trip, which are available at no extra charge after the trip.
We are actively monitoring the changes on the glacier. Your trip supports this initiative and the guides will explain the program as you use instruments to collect data points.
Disclaimers
All guests are required to complete a liability WAIVER prior to joining the trip. This is an important legal document and should be reviewed prior to arrival. To review the WAIVER please follow the link. Your guide will review the hazards, risk exposure and waiver upon your arrival.

Our staff live in camp for 4 months at the ice to provide this service. We harvest sun to run our net-zero base and monitor the area because we care about it. Many of the support staff are actively involved in mentorship through the guide training/exam process and all are avid local climbers. We are very proud of our guiding crew and support staff – they’re the real deal – about as authentic as it gets for Rocky Mountain climbers/guides.
-
We have no affiliation with the glacier buses.

We are the only Jasper based company operating in the Columbia Icefield Area in this capacity.
